2018 BAM Cup Round 2 Johnny Roberts

Round 2 of the 2018 BAM Cup was contested at Johnny Roberts DGC, in Arvada Colorado.  At the beginning of the round Brad was sporting NASCAR gear representing Kevin Harvick.  It was explained that just because the scoring is based on the NASCAR point system, the actual tournament was NOT NASCAR themed.  Brad was very disappointed to learn this and dropped the Red Neck accent and regulation play began.  Again Brad started with a hot round going -4 by the 8th basket, as usual he crashed and burned by hitting the wall on turn 4.  He then hopped right on the Bogey Train and stayed there till hole 14.  Late round birdies saved his game as he came in 2nd overall, finishing with a -2.  With the crash and burn of Brad B. Michael B. saw the opening and didn’t look back.  He went straight to Birdie town and was elected Mayor.  Mike finished with 6 Birdies in seven holes for a final score of -4. This allowed him to leave the competition in the dust and take home the top spot for week 2. Matt B. remained consistent and competitive throughout until a late round double bogey dropped him back to even.  An eleven mile an hour wind plagued the entire tournament and was blamed for everything from Global Warming to the 2016 Election scandal.  Steve D. was the real sleeper this round with a solid score of -1 in the intense wind.  Coming from behind, he finished a solid 3rd overall. He posted consistent pars and birdies, peppered with just a few bogies to finish -1.  Dave C. had a solid round battling for the 2nd spot until hole 9 with an unfortunate Double Bogey.  Dave tied with Matt but lost out due to the tie breaker from the previous week’s tag win by Matt.  Jesus B. stepped out of retirement to finish 6th with an unconventional Birdie Bogey strategy.  This alternating system of hot and cold was meant to throw off the competition.  It would seem that the strategy was more effective than anyone would have thought as he finished with a solid score of +1, a great score for such windy conditions.  Klockopotomis demonstrated solid play through out the tournament with just one double bogey.  Klocko had several heart breaking just barely missed putts.  One double bogey set him back on an otherwise great round and was enough to upset his overall strategy in his battle with Jesus B.
