Week 4 would be contested at Expo Park, known for it’s beautiful park like setting and fragrant water features. This week featured a modern art sculpture at the water feature named “Shopping Cart with Grocery Bags”. A statement by local artist on the modern condition of suburban life. An early morning start meant the Mike B. would not be on his best game as his sleep cycle was interrupted with the sound of clashing chains. New player Doug K. came out strong as an amateur showing strong promise as a solid competitor. It would seem that a cat on the course would chase away the birds as the match was marked by few birdies and the winning score would be par. Steve D. in an unusual display of conservative play said “I was playing for par” and that is what he got. The fewest mistakes meant taking the #1 spot for Steve D. Mike B. has talked about the lack of coverage by this reporter and we promised to bring more of Mike B’s play. Mike in an amazing display of skill managed to throw a single disc in the water and then from the drop zone throw a second disc in the water. The meant Mike received a triple bogey and a free ticket to bogey town! When asked about it he said “I heard it was two for one craft beers and decided to jump on the bogey town bus”. Nathan and Brad were not far behind and both of them are in a hot contest running for Mayor of Bogey town. Nathan stated the fragrant beauty of Expo Park makes you want to stay all day. Brad when asked said “I was distracted by the shopping cart in the water, crazy never saw that before”.
